As this water leaves Lake Ontario, the last of the Great Lakes, it begins it's thousand mile journey down the mighty St. Lawrence River. Here the water encounters a cluster of more than 1800 rocky protrusions known as the Thousand Islands. The twisting current threads it's way through a variety of passages, some so small that even a canoe could not pass. Like ancient fishermen standing along the shores, the Cedars and Pines cast their deep green shadowy nets upon the liquid mirror river, and create a stage of mystery and intrigue. While with the sternness and sobriety of a Buckingham Palace Guard, a great Blue Heron waits vigilantly on a stony perch. Reproduced from an acrylic painting by Giclee printing directly onto canvas and coated with an ultraviolet protective spray. Black watch is the name of a dark green, almost black color.
