I chose a reference photograph I had taken of a small Adirondack stream near Saranac Lake. Although that day was very cold the stream had not frozen over like most of the others that day, I suspect it must have been spring fed. a fresh snow had fallen the night before creating a dramatic contrast against the darkness of the open water.
