The road is long and hard in an open wagon when traveling the back roads of the North Country in winter.  But these old order Amish, which first moved to Northern New about 25 years ago, are a tenacious and hearty flock.  I often feel a certain kinship with the Amish in our respect and reverence for the land.   This fleet glimpse of Amish life was captured in watercolor along the Flackville- Heuvelton Road.
