"Night Frost" depicts a small modest house along the Black Lake Road on a cold wintry evening .  The dark clouds looming along the horizon suggest the threat of an oncoming storm and focuses the viewer's eye and emotions to the warmth and sanity of the light coming from the back window.  The starkness of the white house against the dramatic sky and soft muted blues are common traits of North Country winters.  The frosty crystal-like effect is achieved by applying salt into the watercolor wash while it is still wet.
