Winter here is long, cold and bitter. I sometimes wonder if the old order Amish that moved up here from Ohio 25 years ago, to get away from it all, knew what they were really getting into… and then there is the rest of us.
But somewhere between the numb toes and red nose, this artist finds inspiration in the steal blue gray starkness of a snow flaked North Country landscape.
There is always work to be done on a farm as depicted in this long acrylic painting of an Amish farmer driving a team of horses across a crystal blue winter panorama.
Reproduced from an acrylic painting on hardboard.
