There is a deep pensive quality that the solemn color of Amish life portrays. Especially in winter when nature seems to imitate their palette. The rich weathered grays of unpainted wood are complemented by the stark black buggies and sepia toned trees on this late afternoon, heavy February day. This long rectangular composition is the latest in a series of three that share this format. The original is a watercolor painted in the area of DePeyster, NY.
