Early morning in the Thousand Islands is quiet and serene, except for the sound of a few birds and occasional fisherman. If the weather is clear and cool, the river will condense and fog will form over the water until the sun rises high enough to burn it off. Sometimes it will be in small patches over the shallow waters or it can be so dense that it inhibits travel. On this morning out in front of Ivy Lea, Ontario it hovered about five feet over the surface for over an hour creating unfamiliar views of familiar scenes.
Reproduced from a watercolor painting by giclee printing.
