In the stillness of summer twilight, the echoing sounds of swirling water and drips off a wooded paddle permeate the cooling air over a small pond in the Adirondack forest. Overhead a crescent moon catches a sliver of light from the now descended star as a deep blue curtain closes over the brilliance of that evening’s performance. In a few moments the abrasive sound of sand against fiberglass will be heard as the canoe be dragged up on shore. The only thing remaining will be the memory of that day that will ripple through time like the distorted reflections on the water in the canoes wake.
Reproduced from an oil painting by giclee printing.
