While strolling about the backside of a friend’s island one late afternoon, my attention was captured by a stand of daisies. The light behind them was reflecting off the St. Lawrence River. The three large pine trees in the background lent a sense of balance and harmony to the composition.
I have always liked daisies, there is something unpretentious about them. They grow almost anywhere but are often observed along the edges of a country roads swaying with the breeze with sunlight dancing off their flour white pedals.
Reproduced from an oil painting on hardboard by giclee printing.
