Much of the St. Lawrence Valley was settled by early explorers sailing up the river in search of a passageway to the West. This acrylic painting was created from memory and a variety of real places, in remembrance of these early explorers. Another title that was considered was “Across the Water”. The original painting was donated to Public Television for their Art Auction fund raiser. It now hangs in The Lobster House Restaurant in Norwood, New York.
The early dawn, symbolizing the era of a new beginning: the birth of Western Civilization. The artist’s proofs will include the comet Hal-Bopp and a remarque.
