Walking along a Port Clyde road on a
late summer day, there is just enough crispness in the air to remind you to
appreciate the waning warmth of a retreating sun as it dips south to touch
the tropic of Capricorn. Through the crystal blue sky the raking sun
boldly splashes light across the landscape like an abstract expressionist
painter.
Port Clyde lies at the end of route
131, south of Thomaston, Maine and is the harbor for two Monhegan Island
ferry boats, the "Laura B" and the "Elizabeth Ann".
