The quaintness of this Victorian influenced house on Route 16, a few miles outside of Ottawa, Ontario, combined with the stark contrast of white against the dark trees was the focal point of this watercolor painting. The peace and soft beauty of a snowy winter day is echoed in this painting. Deep snow spread across the foreground like frosting on a cake. The half buried split rail fence stretching across the field like branches in a frozen lake.
