Only one mammal has a more complex social order and greater
territory than the wolf, it's the one reading this. Often misunderstood and the
victim of prejudice, which can be traced through centuries of literature, the wolf's range
today is less than one third of it's former area. First domesticated 12,000 years
ago in the Near East, ironically making it the predecessor of all 120 species of "mans
best friend"
Reproduced from an acrylic painting commissioned by St. Lawrence
Explosives.
