To me love has always been more like a butterfly than a bee.
A bee goes about his business in a diligently purposeful manner, flower to
flower
gathering all the pollen he can, then without dilly or dally, making a (of course) beeline
for the hive.
But the butterfly is quite different, fluttering aimlessly from
place to place, with what seems to be not a care in the world. Resting here and
there, just enjoying the view while the sun still shines. When I was a younger boy I
would catch bees in a jar. It was always easy because they were so predictable.
Ah, but that elusive butterfly, that was a real challenge.
I am reminded of the lyrics "life, so they say, is but a
dream and we let it slip away" I hope your path is always surrounded by beauty
and you take the time to appreciate it. Reproduced from a watercolor painting from the
collection of Brenda Morrow.
