A full moon arrives about every 29 days. If you live 100 years, you could see around 1,258 of them, but of course things get in the way, like clouds, trees, roofs, life, etc.
I have probably seen a few hundred, but I still get excited when I see that big orange melon slowly ascending like a big brother eyeball in the sky.
It’s been mankind’s nightlight throughout history. Its influence on the earth is profound, affecting all living things on the physical planet. Why even a potato is aware of the position of the moon. Ask any avid fisherman when the best time to fish is and they will tell you, it depends on where the moon is in relation to where you are.
Another fascinating aspect of a full moon is that as the sun sets in the west a full moon rises in the east, like a changing of the guard. Sometimes the glow of the setting sun will illuminate the clouds along the opposite horizon, as portrayed in this simplistic oil landscape painting. Giclee print.
