The first time I heard the words snow birds was when I was visiting my father who had just moved to Florida after retiring. He said that the traffic was not too bad down here until the snow birds arrive, my first, but confused, thought was of some great white migrating foul that I had never heard of. But it soon became apparent what he was talking about. A few years later I was out shooting reference photos in a blizzard and passed by this scene and was reminded my dad and the term he used to describe the people that go south in the winter and north in the summer.
